Tattva – Program at the University of Delhi

Merit prevails in modern India, said Admiral R. Hari Kumar, former Chief of Naval Staff, emphasizing that the argument merit is losing importance in today's India is false. Success achieved through shortcuts is never permanent, he added.

Admiral R. Hari Kumar was speaking as the chief guest at the Tattva Educational Conclave, jointly organized by Vivekananda Darshanika Samajam and Delhi School of Social Work. The event took place at the Institute of Lifelong Learning Auditorium, North Campus, Delhi University.

The theme of the event was 'Value-Based Education for a Transformed India: Nurturing Tomorrow's Karma Yogis.' Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University, Prof. Yogesh Singh, was the chief patron.

Other distinguished attendees at the inaugural session included Prof. Sushma Yadav, UGC Steering Committee member; Prof. Ranjan Tripathi, Hon. Dean, Students' Welfare, University of Delhi; and Prof. Sanjoy Roy, Head of the Department at the Delhi School of Social Work

Sri. Dileep Nayathil, Vice President of Vivekananda Darshanika Samajam, while delivering the organizer’s message, spoke about the relevance of value-based education and Swami Vivekananda's contributions to shaping a value-driven India.

A panel discussion on 'Value-based Education in Contemporary Pedagogy: Integrating Indian Philosophy for Holistic Development of Social Workers' followed, chaired by Prof. Sanjoy Roy, Head of the Department, Department of Social Work, University of Delhi, and featured panelists from the department, including Prof. Pamela Singla, Prof. Neena Pandey, Dr. Abhishek Thakur, and Sri Kailash Chandra Pandey from the Delhi Blind Relief Association.

The event concluded with a summary speech by Uday Shankar Singh, CEO of the Delhi Vishva Yuvak Kendra, and a vote of thanks by Smt. Gayathri Menon, member of the Tattva Organizing Committee. The conclave began at 9 AM and concluded by 2 PM.
