Ekapanchaashat Shakti Chaitanya Samanwayam- A Celebration of Unity in Diversity
As part of the Navaratri celebrations at Tadvanam Ashramam, Palakkad, the Ashramam is undertaking Ekapanchaashat Shakti Chaitanya Samanwayam—a spiritual initiative intended to recognise the underlying unity beyond the diversity of temples, traditions and forms of worship, and to share this message of oneness with society.
As part of this initiative, sacred soil (dhooli) is being collected from 51 prominent Devi temples of Palakkad district and will be ceremonially offered before a specially brought idol of Goddess Durga from Kolkata. The collected soil symbolises the sacredness of the different places of worship coming together in a single spiritual offering.
The initiative commenced at Sree Emoor Bhagavathy Temple, Kallekulangara, where the first sacred soil was received from the temple authorities by Dr. Sunitha Muralidharan, Chief Coordinator of the programme, on 13 September 2026.
The ceremony was attended by Sri Dhanya Sahadevan, Coordinator, trustees of Vivekananda Darshanika Samajam Sri V. Manikandan, Sri Santhosh Ravindran and Sri Sunshugoy, along with Sri Sunil Kumar, Sri Hari and Sri Murali. A notice explaining the purpose and details of Ekapanchaashat Shakti Chaitanya Samanwayam was also presented to the temple authorities.
The Sacred Soil Collection
Representatives of Tadvanam Ashramam visited 51 Devi temples across Palakkad district to collect a handful of sacred soil from each temple. For this purpose, specially prepared cloth bags were provided to the respective temple authorities.
Each participating temple was invited to place a handful of soil collected from its temple premises in the designated cloth bag after offering it at the Devi shrine. In this way, the sacred soil from different temples becomes part of a common offering representing unity amidst diversity.
The Culmination
The sacred soil collected from all 51 temples will be brought together and ceremonially installed at the Navaratri Mandapam of Tadvanam Ashramam on evening at 10 October 2026
Ekapanchaashat Shakti Chaitanya Samanwayam seeks to convey a simple yet profound message: diverse forms and traditions can come together in the recognition of the one underlying spiritual reality. Through this collective offering, Tadvanam Ashramam hopes to foster a deeper awareness of unity, harmony and spiritual togetherness.
